Collab Crafters: Minecraft Education Club
The foundations of building well
Our first term is all about the foundations of building well. Children learn the difference between putting blocks together and designing something that looks considered, using Minecraft Education to explore design thinking, proportion and craftsmanship.
No previous Minecraft experience is needed. Every stage stands on its own, so children can start here or join at any point in the year.

What Children Will Learn
Weekly taught input and skill focus
Every session starts with the skill of the week modelled on screen.
Foundations of building well
Children learn the difference between putting blocks together and designing something that looks considered.
Design thinking and proportion
Thinking about shape, scale and how the parts of a build fit together.
Craftsmanship and attention to detail
Taking pride in the finish, not just getting it built.
Time to explain, improve and reflect
Children talk through what they made and why they made it that way.
Beginner-friendly, with challenge for confident builders
Every session has a starting point for beginners and an extension for those who want to push further.
By the end of the term
A considered build your child can be proud of, with the design thinking and craftsmanship to carry into every term that follows.
What a Session Looks Like
A short taught input where the skill of the week is modelled on screen
Plenty of building time, with support and challenge for every child
A photograph of their work and a note of what they built
Time at the end to look at what everyone else has made
