About Collaborative Computing Education

Collaborative Computing Education is a specialist teaching service helping primary schools deliver high-quality, engaging computing lessons with confidence. We work alongside schools to provide PPA cover, after-school computing clubs, curriculum advisory support, bespoke curriculum collaboration, and continuing professional development (CPD) for teachers. Our aim is simple: to make computing accessible, purposeful and genuinely enjoyable for every child, while reducing workload for school staff.

Our services are designed for primary schools, headteachers, computing subject leaders and class teachers across Wiltshire and the wider South West of England. Whether a school is building its computing curriculum from scratch, looking to strengthen existing provision, or seeking expert-led enrichment for pupils, we tailor our support to fit each setting. We focus on the real-world skills children need — computational thinking, creativity, collaboration, problem-solving and responsible, safe use of technology — rather than isolated technical drills.

Collaborative Computing Education was founded and is led by Jake Miles, a primary school teacher with over thirteen years of classroom experience and an MSc in Education, Learning Technology and Society. Jake works directly with schools, combining classroom expertise with a research-informed understanding of how children learn with technology. His approach is collaborative and constructivist: children learn best when they build, create and solve problems together in a structured, supportive environment.

We believe every child deserves a computing education that develops not only digital skills but also the curiosity, confidence and critical thinking they will carry into every area of learning and life. That belief shapes every session we design, every club we run and every curriculum we help schools build.
